If I could present a Music Award for what reason would I honor any of the below music heroes of mine? And what would that music Award be? Disclaimer: the names of my “music Awards” are totally invented. I had a great time picking up a hilarious name, for any artist.
Nile Rodgers – the Tenancy Award, for carrying on, against all odds
Boy George – the Icon Award. He’s an awesome icon.
U2 – The Rock and War Award: They’re involved in many battles petitions, etc., using their music and their (front man’s) charisma.
Slash – the Rock and Rage Award. His guitar style is one of the “wildest and angriest” of all.
Santana – The Guitar Icon Award. From Woodstock, his style on the six chords is iconic. He’s one of the living guitar legends since then.
Steve Lukather – The Nobel Rock Poetry Award: solo or with his foundation band, Toto, he wrote epic lyrics and songs: what legacy!!
Sting – The Rock and Environment Award: he set the world on fire with his music and was within the first artists to be able to put attention on the environment trouble
Queen – The Best Legacy Award. Who will forget them?
Red Ronnie – The Communication Award. I don’t share all of his opinions and views, but he’s one of the best music journalists on Earth.
Roxy Music – The Smooth Award. Their pop music sounds smooth, stylish, melodic.
Autohypnosis – The Electronic Award – electro-pop music needs his talent and we need his awesome music.
Dom Brown – The Kindness Award. A gentle soul playing one of the best blues guitars ever.
Warren Cuccurullo – The Guitar Style Award. Warren learnt to play most of rock and pop guitar styles and techniques and this made his musicianship a very requested one.
Youth Kills – The Youth Award. The awesome duo deserves a tribute ‘coz they are bringing forward the voice of their generation.
Andy Taylor – The Grit Award. He’s got a strong ego and I do admire him for his temper.
Dandy Warhols – The Best Pupils Awards. The guys learnt very well on how to follow the footsteps of great artists, like Andy Warhol, Duran Duran, to name a few.
Spandau Ballet – The Honesty Award. They were honest to their fans, in late 80s when they split up, when announced their retirement very openly and using humble terms. Amazing!
Johnny Beane – The Sympathy for Rock Award. John is a very nice guy, an amazing rocker and he makes me often laugh with his jokes.
The Gravity Drive – The Best Breakthrough Award. The awesome band, slowly and wisely, is conquering a growing number of fans with a campaign on the social media and on the radio. Chapeau!
Michael Des Barres – The Rock in Poems Award. I found him a true poet when he performs, when he writes his blogs and even when he updates his status on his social profiles.
Luke Skyscraper James – The Past, Present and Future Award. Years passed from when he debuted with his band Fashion in Birmingham, but his back then views and music still sound innovating today.
Space hotel – The little great musicianship Award. He’s an amazing young breakthrough act, who, little by little, is building a certain success in the indie music industry.
Japan – The Best Influential Act Award. There are many icons in the 70s-80s who are sources of inspiration for young people, but this band is the most visual, artistic one.
Steve Strange – The Colorful Award. His colors will hardly fade away.
Rusty Egan – The Groove Master Award. He’s one of the best DJs out now.
