DD TV Glam Pop Party – May 2016

And goodbye May… you have been a long, to some extent stressful, rainy and normally hot, month.

Guys, we are sharing with you a list…. We are focusing on the Reality Shows: music, cooking, treasure hunts, dating, surviving reality shows. We are saying our opinions thru topics. One more time, presented with a little bit of humour, here and there: please, feel free to have a laughter, whenever you think it is due!

Enjoy!

FLIGHT 616

Game introduction: six boys, unmarried and six girls, unmarried are divided into separate groups and are sent to a country in every of the six continents, (not the Middle East, for war/safety reasons) and where a sort of treasure hunt takes place. The award for every match can be the possibility to pick one of the boys or one of the girls, the possibility to not be nominated in the following match, to gain a sum of money, to gain one more clue to find the location of the next clue. The final prize is the flying ticket to the following location, with the boy/girl picked up during the match. It is a dating-reality show.

Interaction with people at home: there is an app for mobile phone to vote the couple of applicants to nominate/send home.

Our rating on the judges/coaches: There are no judges here (celebrities are busy in other talent shows…)

Our rating on the game: 10 out of 10 for the originality of the game. We don’t like the fact that the applicants MUST pick a boy or a girl to form a couple:

Our rating on the prizes: the awards during the match are sometimes ridiculous.

Our rating on the final award: happy them they can travel the world … freely!

MASTERCHEF – MASTERCHEF JUNIOR

Game introduction: it deals with a TV cooking show. The applicants have to be able to show they’re very good at cooking. They are given what dishes they have to prepare and the judges taste what they cook. People at home can vote who to eliminate from the nominees names indicated by the judges. The judges are some of the best chefs in the world.

Interaction with people at home: People at home can vote the nominees, time by time and vote the final winner. A pity we can’t taste.

Our rating on the judges/coaches: For us the chefs are all good guys, we trust on them! We don’t care much of their egos when expressing their rating: for us the only important thing to judge is the final food put on the dish.

Our rating on the game: the game might be useful for recipes at home.

Our rating on the prizes: little help is given to the applicants, but they’re enough to them to go to the following steps

Our rating on the final award: the final award is the chance to work at, or to open a restaurant, bar, etc.

AMICI

Game introduction: it is maybe the best of the Talent Shows on the Italian TV. It is a real School of Performing Arts – a copy of the Alan Parker’s movie off the 80’s – you have the crew of the teachers for dance and for singing, made mainly of celebrities. The form lasts from November to February and you can watch the pupils’ classes on line, via streaming. From March up to May the School becomes a Talent Show: the pupils who passed the form have to perform in many numbers and are judged by an outside team of celebrities.

Interaction with people at home: fans can watch all on line, vote for the guys to eliminate. The Twitter community is a large, very friendly and interactive one.

Our rating on the judges/coaches: much fun hearing the celebrities argue4 their choices and sometimes, when scheduled to duet with the applicants/singers.

Our rating on the game: maybe the best talent show on TV in Italy, because it is all real, clear.

Our rating on the prizes: we think they’re not worth to consider.

Our rating on the final award: a contract to dance and a contract to record studio albums with a major label. Many of them grew like superstars.

THE VOICE OF ITALY/UK/…

Game introduction: it is a talent show. The applicants are mainly singers and vocalists; they can apply as duos. The show is famous for its phases: Blind Audition, the judges/coaches can’t see the applicants’ faces, but pick up their favourite only after hearing the vocals. The “Battles”: two or three applicants chosen by the coach from their teams go on the stage and perform each a piece of the same song; the “Knock-out”: each of the vocalists who won the “Battles” have to preform each a song; “Live”: the “Knock out” surviving applicants have to perform a song live, with the help of choreographies. “The final” is the place where the four surviving vocalists perform a cover, a duet and their debut singles. In each phase the coaches rating and the people mobile voting have a different share of importance.

Interaction with people at home: there is a related app for mobile phones, to vote their fave vocalist.

Our rating on the judges/coaches: the coaches aren’t always made of smart, prepared and lovely celebrities. The applicants who step by step win aren’t always really the best singers in the world.

Our rating on the game: there are too many phases and apart from the “Blind Auditions”, it is too similar to “X Factor”

Our rating on the prizes: no prize is given between a phase and the following one.. No one is nominated and the winners are picked up immediately by the coach, either live with the fans’ mobile voting

Our rating on the final award: a contract with a record label … that is the illusion to last forever.

X FACTOR

Game introduction: it is a talent show for vocalists and bands only and the applicants can apply as duos and as bands. The “Bands” category was only  recently added. The teams are formed by the coaches/celebrities, who are assigned the applicants  according to the their ages.

Interaction with people at home: there is a related app for mobile phones

Our rating on the judges/coaches: the coaches aren’t always made of smart, prepared and lovely celebrities. The applicants who step by step win aren’t always really the best singers in the world

Our rating on the game: celebrities can be cruel at times: they pick immediately the ones who for them can pass or not.

Our rating on the prizes: the gags and more often the blazing rows between applicants and coaches are hilarious and .. memorable at times!

Our rating on the final award: a contract with a record label … that is the illusion to last forever!

UOMINI e DONNE

Game introduction: a people/dating Reality show. Applicants are men, women and from September 2016 gays, who look for a partner

Interaction with people at home: people at home can only watch. No interference is rightly permitted on others’ love affairs

Our rating on the judges/coaches: no coaches or judges. Who can pick the favourite up are the applicants/lovers.

Our rating on the game: we think love affair is something private. Love is not for sale or for TV.

Our rating on the prizes: there are dealings and courting within the people who take part, but there is no winner

Our rating on the final award: you win love!

C’E’ POSTA PER TE

Game introduction: it is a people show. At the centre of the studio there is a big closed envelope. On the opposite sides you have a person or a group of people or family, who basically aren’t in touch with the ones beyond the big envelope. The TV presenter is like a mediator/peacemaker between the two factions. There is no winner, but if one of the two warrying camps decides to open the envelope, it means they reached an agreement, it means love and peace have ruled.

Interaction with people at home: people at home can only watch. No interference is rightly permitted on others’ personal affairs

Our rating on the judges/coaches: No judges or coaches here, but celebrities sometimes are invited to give advice.

Our rating on the game: we think personal affair is something private.

Our rating on the prizes: there are dealings within the people who take part, but there is no winner

Our rating on the final award: you win peace!

PECHINO EXPRESS

Game introduction: actually 8 couple of applicants of celebrities are sent to a foreign country, with a survival kit and with Euro 1,00.=  of budget a day to spend in food and other necessities in a sort of treasure hunt. The one couple who crosses first the line, has advantages in the following part, the slowest couple in the game receives penalties. It must be added that the winning applicants are given an envelope, which they have to open at the end of every match: inside of it they find the name of the applicants that must leave the game or can stay in the game, but with “options”.

Interaction with people at home: There are no nominees ‘coz speed decided all.

Our rating on the judges/coaches: There are no coaches/judges, but we love making gossip on the applicants.

Our rating on the game: it’s beautiful, also for the countries and towns visited.

Our rating on the prizes: The prizes given are intriguing and add more suspense to the game

Our rating on the final award: the winning couple of applicants gets a sum of money, but they have to evolve part of it to charity causes.

EXTREME MAKEOVER

Game introduction: the protagonist is a generally a mid-class ordinary family, living in a not very beautiful house, which is picked up by the TV show crew for their economic status. The Reality show production calls the workmanship, to rebuild the whole flat and in a few days

Interaction with people at home: No interaction from home: you are just given the chance to feel in a state of awe watching the awesomeness of the crew of builders, carpenters, plumbers working hard doing their job; job that must be done quickly given the difficult times of the family in question …

Our rating on the judges/coaches: No team is judges/coaches is scheduled here

Our rating on the game: it’s awesome, it’s funny, but after watching it twice we felt a little boring….

Our rating on the prizes: it’s not a competition, it’s a particular kind of “social” Talent show

Our rating on the final award: the family gets a brand new house rebuilt with no Eurocent paid; the family can gain some dignity, they have a dream come true in a few hours. It’s Reality show made on housing, because it’s one of the fields mostly involved by the current economic crisis, the “house” was one of the status-symbols in our society, up to the crisis.
