DD TV Glam Pop Party – January 2017

We are saying goodbye to the first month of the new year

Whenever a month is coming to an end on our blog it is time for lists…

We have decided to change the method to make the lists: the subject that we pick up “goes versus” the other topics. It is not said ALL the rest of the topics is suitable to the subject we have chosen.

This time the list is dedicated to Video Clips.

We tried as always to add humour, so feel free to have a laugh when you think it is due.

Enjoy!

Video clips : the Question

Sex and new hi-fi are the biggest factors of change inside the clips, but what could be the next one which could appeal people? Are going to be Trump’s moves enough to shake the creativity of artists, maybe?

Video clips: fashion, clothes and style

It is amazing how the clips reflected the time it was shot, thanks to the clothes and style of the artists involved in.

Video clips: live clips

How awesome the clips shot during a concert are!!! It’s a pity they’re not very frequent to see these days

Video clips: the legacy

The legacy is not shooting and making videos, as this new “industry” was started in the 80’s, but true legacy should be the inspiration to find anything visually new, original and different to promote the music.

Video clips: the top albums

Yes, it is confirmed that a fantastic video clip often encourages people to buy the related single and so the album.

Video clips: the challenge

The new challenges are to find new credible clip directors and designers; to change view on the use of “vulgarity and obscenities” in the footage,

Video clips: the charts

Do they still matter since we have the related Music Awards?

Video clips: satire, open with care

We miss ironic artists like Weird Al Yankovic, who parodied the clips of more famous artists in the 80’s. We haven’t noticed much irony in recent clips, today artists learnt to be serious, to look perfect and flawless. Satire is something that is taken seriously, to the point that if any artist felt hurt by being mentioned/quoted in a whatever parody, it would result in hell with lawyers and lawsuits !!!

Video clips: the DDTV Music Awards

Do you think we have to include this category in our own Music Awards? Which criterion  do you think we have to use? Mmm, food for thoughts

Video clips: radio

“… We only need to use our ears/how music changed thru the years… “ Queen – Radio Gaga, our favourite line when speaking of radio and of, indirectly, clips!
